Overdrive, its push into the racing-set space, was a fun hybrid of Scalextric-style controls and app gaming. While its robot companion Cozmo hit the top of the toy charts, thanks to its charm. The Vector Anki is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It comes in a stylish black color with gold accents and has a tough, tank-like appearance.

It can greet you with your name, which is fun, but it doesn’t always work. The first scan worked for me, but other times it failed multiple times to recognize me. I’m not quite sure what made it fail, but it could have been the lighting or the internet connection. Plus, it's cute, personable, and charming from the get-go.

It's starting out as a very simple voice assistant device, and in that regard it feels several steps behind smart speakers like the Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini. Of course, those are speakers, and not expressive toy robots that can scurry around your desk, recognize your face, and give you a fist bump. While the Vector looks like the Cozmo, it works differently. You don't program it to do tricks, or go through set activities defined through an app.
Anki, the consumer robotics company that developed Vector, and his earlier cousin, Cozmo, shut down due to a lack of funds to support ongoing operations. Thankfully Digital Dream Labs came to the rescue in December 2019, raising sufficient funds to continue the support and development of Vector. Unfortunately, Vector robot does not currently recognize pets. So Vector really caters to a wide audience when it comes to STEM learning opportunities, although for young children there are no visual coding options.

This is really a lot of technology in such a small body, and Vector uses it all for its flawless performance. The more time Vector spent in my home, however, the better he got, and now he responds on the first try about half the time. Anki is a company whose products always seem to delight.
Binding to the application, it probably should be only for one person, the vector intercepts right in your Wi-Fi connection and uses the degree of the free application. This automatically means that he can use many more people. Vector includes a huge amount of technology that animates it.
